We have an 11 month old whippet male available to a special family.

We have an 11 month old whippet male available to a special family. Mr. Apollo was born on 12-2-2018. We own both of his parents. I initially (at 13 weeks) placed him with a recently retired local gentleman, but his life situation changed and he was no longer able to give Apollo the attention he deserves. We have had Apollo now for about two months constantly around his well trained parents and uncle. He is very big for a whippet already approaching 40 lbs, which is very interesting considering his dad is average sized and mom is very petite.

Apollo is super sweat, confident, outgoing, playful, high energy, loves all people and other dogs, and responds very well to structure and a strong owner/handler. He walks well on a leash, responds immediately to his name, and knows a few commons including bed and crate. He is crate trained, but stays calm only if he is next to another dog. Otherwise he isn't happy. He eats each meal like it's his last. I've never seen another whippet gorge themselves like Apollo does. He isn't an alpha or a beta dog, but somewhere in between. He is fully vaccinated, microchipped and has been on Trifexis all his life. He will be neutered before leaving my household.

We think he definitely needs another whippet around to be happy, and a family with time to play with him outside daily. Again, he is a very outgoing and high energy whippet. He need to be run hard daily to calm him down and be a good house dog. I will add that his is quite clingy to his people. Always following us around to the point that he would be attached to us if we let him. Price $1,200

We had a litter of nine born December 1, 2018 (4 girls and 5 boys). Currently we have one puppy left to find a home for. Our puppies get their first round of vaccines (Bordetella/Distemper) and are microchipped. We also put a lot of effort into socializing each pup around people of all ages and other adult whippets. Cost is $1,500. I screen all prospective buyers before I sell a puppy to them and the screening process varies based on each buyer's lifestyle/situation.

Our family adores this breed. In our opinion they are the perfect Florida family pet, but they are not for everyone. All of our puppies are being offered with limited (pet) AKC registration. We require buyers to sign a contract stating that they will spay or neuter their dog before the age of two, and if they ever decide they don't want the dog anymore, the buyer must return the dog to us, and us alone. If your main intent is to obtain a show dog or to breed, you are better off going to a more established breeder with "proven/finished" dogs.

We own the dam, GG. GG passed her BAER (hearing), CAER (eye) and Echo (heart) tests at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists in Maitland, Fla.

Each puppy will come with:
- FL health certificate
- AKC litter pedigree
- vet records for the first visit/ round of shots
- a copy of the contract
- our puppy info sheet

- microchip and pre-paid registration

- 2 year health garantee against congenital defects

- AKC puppy info packet

- my info sheet with dates for future shots required and treatments received for deworming

- first month’s Trifexis

I really want to find buyers within driving distance of central Florida. I'm just not comfortable shipping my puppies. While whippets come in a variety of colors,  your family will be best off picking your puppy based on temperament and your lifestyle. We can help with that.
